Here are out top tips on how to be a good swim parent!

 

Most swim parents are fantastic when interacting with coaches, officials and other of their children's competitors

'Swim Parents' don't show up in the list of the top 10 'Worst Sport Parents' which is all good news! Well Done!!

 

This is our list of rules on how to be the best 'Swim Parent'

 

Be your child's biggest fan! Support them, be positive and help them feel good about themselves, no matter what,

and especially after a poor swim!

 

Do not coach your child - coaching involves critiquing - you are their for support, no matter what... see the rule above.

 

Do not disrupt their swim training.

 

Get your child to training on time, and pick them up on time.

 

Pay attention to the club rules on entering and scratching from meets.

Let us know as soon as possible if a swimmer can no longer attend.

 

Remember that...

 

Your child’s success or lack of success in swimming does not indicate what kind of parent you are.

But having a swimmer that is coachable, respectful, a great team mate, mentally tough,

resilient and tries their best IS a direct reflection of your parenting.
